July in the Algarve
We started the first of July with a cloudy morning, but later in the day the sun came back as well as the heat. It is summer without any doubt.
July and August are the busiest months of the year in the Algarve Portugal. Algarve Housing update you every month with things to do for the coming month.
Along the coast you will find a lot of sunset and other beach parties with DJs and live bands performing at beach bars.
So here we go for July in the Algarve. There is so many things to do, but we will go for the highlights Algarve.
5-8 July
Festival of Light Lagoa
Thousands of candles will be lit at night through the center of Lagoa. This year with the theme of AFRICA! Together with African food and music, this is a great venue in the Algarve in July
13-15 July
Club Nau Beach Festival Ferragudo
A large stage at the beach with 3 nights in a row live bands playing. Dance the night away with your feet in the sand, and a nice cocktail!
18-22 July
Lota Cool Market Portimao
Lota Cool Market “UnderWaterLove”
The coolest market in the south on the river front in Portimão
There a ‘LOTA’ cool at this ultra COOL annual street market in Portimão!
This year, it’s a five day event packed entertainment, art, design, gourmet and street food to Portimão’s riverbank. This year’s theme is Underwater Love’.
New crafts, fashion, delicious food and drink, nationally produced gourmet products and live music are on the menu for the 5th edition of Lota Cool Market. which will take place from July 18th to 22nd July, in the Ribeirinha Zone Of Portimão, next to the Old Bridge and the Old Lota.
Branded ‘The Coolest Market in the South’, the event presents national and innovative creative projects, revealing new trends and original products, with around many exhibitors from across the Algarve and Portugal.
19-22 July
Bike event Faro
Faro receives from the 19th to the 22nd of July of 2018 the 37th International Motorcycle Meeting.
Vale das Almas, as always, will gather thousands of bikers from all over the world during a weekend with a lot of concerts, exhibitions, presentations making of Faro the capital of the two wheels.
Founded in 1982, the Moto Clube Faro is the entity responsible for this organization that is one of the most mythical biker’s concentrations in Europe. Every year thousands of bikers roam to Algarve for a weekend full of concerts, performances, exhibitions, among many other activities amusing activities.
International Sand Sculpture Festival Pera
An impressive exhibition of sand sculptures by international artists
The Festival is open daily until 10th November and, between July and September, you can visit SandCity until midnight each day. The exhibition features 45 thousand tons of sand carved into amazing works of art.This year the theme will be “Minions” and “Star Wars”.
In addition to the sculptures there will be a cultural agenda of music and workshops.

Sunset Secrets at Castle Silves
A magical evening of music, food and more, as the sun sets
Enjoy a magical evening at Quintas do Castelo, as the sun goes down on Silves.
Sunset Secrets happens every Thursday from the end of June until the beginning of August. The event opens at 6.30pm and there’s an opportunity to try a relaxing massage and taste the local food. There’s also oriental dancing and poetry readings, before the concerts start at 9.30pm.
