Casa Funchal is a luxury villa located in totally secluded and beautiful surroundings between Lagos centre and the popular smaller town of Praia da Luz. The villa sits high on the top of Funchal Ridge overlooking magnificent views of the town and the sea.

Built to the most modern standards, the villa is comfortable and well-equipped ideal for large family groups while still designed to be homely for a smaller group. Casa Funchal is fully insulated so is cool in Summer and dry and warm in Winter, together with its panoramic views, private infinity-edge pool and stunning interior, makes it a haven of relaxation in rural settings.

Accommodation:

The villa itself has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms over 2 floors, plus, just 100 metres away in the garden, there is a self contained cottage with a double bedroom, bathroom with shower in bath and kitchen with a 4 ring gas hob, kettle, fridge/freezer, toaster and oven. Having its own entrance and terrace (with sea view!) it is perfect for those who like to come away as a group with the rest of the guests but also enjoy their own space.

The kitchen in the main house is large and well equipped with a gas hob with 4 rings, fridge, freezer, oven, microwave and all of the usual equipment you would need to make your stay here effortless. The lounge has a wood burner for the fresh evenings and air-conditioning throughout. Along with the 4 bathrooms, there is also an additional toilet and sink on the ground floor around the pool area.

Although a large villa, it is extremely welcoming and cosy with all the amenities you would need to make your holiday a great one, please also help yourself to the library of paperback books as well as DVDs and toys and games for the children.

Outside:

Casa Funchal has breathtaking views of both the sea and Lagos town. The mature and well-maintained garden is perfect for a stroll, or to just relax and enjoy the lush views either from a hammock or from one of the luxury sun loungers around the infinity pool. There are plenty of sun and shady areas, and of course a BBQ to complete this fantastic luxury villa.

Surroundings:

The villa is located near the lively town of Lagos, an ancient and dynamic coastal town in the Algarve, proud of its historic past – it played an important role in the Great Maritime Discoveries. The little port of Lagos is nestled in one of the biggest bays in Europe, which offers clear and calm beaches with their ochre rocks carved by the sea.

Lagos centre offers a maze of cobbled crisscrossed streets of note-worthy architecture, fine restaurants and shops, beautiful beaches and a vibrant nightlife that appeals to many ages.

The large beach of Meia Praia is about 5 km away, while the spectacular Ponta da Piedade rock formation, with beautiful caves is a little further.

Lagos offers a full range of amenities and activities, including quirky and traditional restaurants and bars. Golf is available at the nearby courses of Parque da Floresta, Boavista, Palmares, Penina or Morgado.

Head to the bustling Marina to find out what water sports appeal to you, you will find everything including water skiing, windsurfing, sailing, diving, deep-sea fishing and motorboat cruises. Further activities like jeep and dolphin safaris, horseback riding, tennis, clay pigeon shooting, bowling and micro-light flying can also be easily arranged.

The luxury villa is also very close to Praia da Luz, a smaller, but very nice beach village also a popular tourist destination. You won’t be too far from the Surfing paradise and most Westerly point of Portugal – Sagres.
